Desktop Application Development
Boulder Technology makes use of the powerful Flex framework for building Rich Internet Applications. Created by Adobe, Flex provides a component-based framework for building rich applications deployed in Flash - and using Adobe's Integrated Runtime (AIR), these applications can be run on the desktop as well. Flex provides a powerful object-oriented scripting language (ActionScript), and features advanced integration with the ColdFusion Application Server, making it ideal for connecting desktop systems to back-end webservices.
InformationSAFE
InformationSAFE (http://www.infosafe.com) is an information storage application for personal and small business use. While the system is designed to allow web access, storing personal documents in the cloud, it also provides a desktop application for users who demand a higher level of security. Boulder Technology built a unified Flex application to meet the needs of both scenarios. While the web version communicates with back-end ColdFusion webservices for data storage, the desktop version (deployed in Adobe AIR) uses an encrypted database on the user's file system. And the same application can be downloaded and installed on Windows, Mac, or Linux.
Additional features include secure document sharing, PDF report generation, and optional cloud-based backups.
